I had a shirt dress that was destroyed beyond repair, so I decided to reuse the African print fabric to sew a short for my son. I used Singer tradition 2259, it is very basic and easy to use. Below is a picture of the damaged dress.
First, I cut out the two parts for the shorts, then sew them together: Here is a guide I followed to cut out the short and sew it.
It was straightforward and took me 30 minutes to complete. It fit my client perfectly and he seemed happy :)
How do you reuse left over fabric? I would love to get some inspiration from you.
